Body Presention:  Div. 12 & 13 did a great job of their body presentation at the assembly!

Most students have brought home their body apron and their brain hats, please have them share all that they have learned!  If you'd like to keep the brain hat you can send it back and I'll add it to their memory books, I had wanted them to review and explain the different parts to you but then realized it would be a good keepsake.

Div. 13's Starbooks presentations were a great success.  All your children did an amazing job and were also a great audience for their peers, thanks for your support with this project.

Scientist of the Week starts on Tuesday.  Your child's day is listed on the information sheet, they should complete the experiment sheet at home and bring it on their special day.  If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out.  I've also disccssed with the class that there may be repeats of some experiments but that is totally fine as we'll still be learning!

Free Choice Friday these three designed and coloured these snakes!

Div. 1 have been busy designing, creating and preparing for their Entreprneur Fair on Tuesday, April 29th. This is an opportunity for students at Fairview to purchase a variety of items from mini hockey sticks, keychains, bookmarks, 3D-printed Miecraft toys, slime, thoughtful Mother's Day gifts.  Prices range from $1-$8.  I told the students to please not bring more than $10 to allow everyone an opportunity to buy and also hopefully avoid any lost money.

April home reading is coming to an end.  Students should return their bunny by May 2nd /May 5th at the latest.  Your child should have coloured the days that they read and if parents please sign if your child did read the days coloured.

Everyone should have received a letter (on green paper) about our upcoming literacy activity 'Starbooks'green form. Your child's presentation date was written on the letter with all the information needed for this.  Our Starbooks Cafe will be daily May 5 - May 9th.  If you have any questions or concerns about this either email or talk to me in person.

April 17

Hope you all have a fantastic long weekend.
A huge thank you to Devon's family who brought pizza for lunch yesterday, Walter for the fantastic fruit tray, Michael the yummy Easter treats and Gavin the sought after potato chips!  Div. 13 devoured almost everything!

Hopefully all students are reading most days and completing their Easter bunny home reading! Next Tuesday we start our Mystery Bags,  please ensure that your child has their book bag.

Please sign up on the Parent Portal for the field trip to Save-on as well as our memory book fee.       Family Literacy Event - Fairview's first ever is on Thursday, May 29th @ 2:45 - 4:15 - Tickets (free) are available on the portal.

Due to the two short school weeks our spelling needs to be done in fewer days.  Unfortunately the lessons are also more difficult. It is important to practise daily, some of these phonetic patterns students just need to memorize. Also don't forget to check out Spelling City on the Useful Link on the side of this website.  All lessons are there so you could review the lists ahead of time or practise ones that your child had difficulty with.

Div. 13 continues to enjoy their exploration stations...

April 4th/25

It is hard to believe it is already April!  Spring is always such a busy time of year but I am hoping that students in Div. 13 can still read each day. Your child has received a home reading bunny. Each day they read, they should color in that part of the bunny. If they miss a day, just leave that section blank. Please return the completed sheets by May 1st. Daily reading is so important, even if it's just for a few minutes! Also please practise their Reader's Workshop books as they will be presenting in the next couple of weeks.

Div. 13 seems to be enjoying our body unit.  We are focusing on our body organs.  Ask them about the experiments we did this we to learn how our stomachs and intestines work (kind of disgusting but also amazing!).  Body Science, including topics on private parts and the reproductive system, will not be covered at school until next year, as it is taught every other year. Please take the time to discuss these topics at home, as your children may have questions.  We will be presenting the body songs at the May assembly so please be practising these at home.

Your child brought home a Scholastic book flyer yesterday.  If you are interested you can order online and just include our class code.  Thank you to Annie's mom for organizing these for the class!

Enjoy this beautiful weather as the rain is forecasted to return soon!

March 14/25

It was such a pleasure meeting with all of you over the past few days and celebrating your child’s learning journey.

Just a reminder, students have access to Raz Kids, Epic (during school hours), and Spelling City if you’re looking for some educational screen time over the spring break. Additionally, I’ve updated all students' Raz-Kids accounts, so they will have new books available. These resources can be found on the class website under the “Useful Links” section.  ABCYA also has some fun, educational games, especially in math, that your child might enjoy.

Wishing you a fantastic couple of weeks ahead! Let’s hope the weather is kind to us.

June 25/25

Div. 13 had a fun morning going through their memory books yesterday remembering all the different things we did and learned this year. I ho...
